The Team
The General Partner of the Fund is Roaring Fork Capital Management, LLC (“RFCM”). Eugene McColley, Michael Machens and James Rothe are the Managing Directors.

Tiffany Cholez joined Roaring Fork in October 2006 as the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer.

Eugene McColley is a co-founder and Managing General Partner. He has provided both capital and value-added services to orphaned microcap companies for the past 20 years. His relevant expertise stems from experience as both a microcap investment banker and a direct investor in orphaned microcap companies. As an investment banker, Mr. McColley raised $280 million for over 50 public microcap companies. As a private equity fund manager and direct angel investor, Mr. McColley has invested 81 orphaned microcap companies.

James T. Rothe is a co-founder and Managing Director. Mr. Rothe has over 30 years of comprehensive business experience. He has 11 years of investment experience as a principal in a $140 million dollar consumer and specialty retail venture capital partnership, 7 years of operating experience as the Vice President of Marketing and President of Texas State Optical and Pearle Vision Center, a $380 million healthcare company, and over 20 years experience as Professor of Business, including 8 years as Dean.

Michael Machens joined Roaring Fork as a consultant in 2004 and was admitted as a partner in May 2005.. Mr. Machens has over 30 years of business and investing experience, most recently as a Managing General Partner of Phillips-Smith-Machens Venture Partners (PSMVP), a $140 million group of private equity funds that made 47 investments in high growth retail and consumer companies. He has been a director of many portfolio companies and, prior to PSMVP, had been the principal financial officer of a number of rapidly growing companies such as Amtech Corporation, Blockbuster Video and Compco Computer Centers. Mr. Machens began his career with Arthur Young & Company and is a CPA.

Tiffany Cholez joined Roaring Fork as the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer. Ms. Cholez has fifteen years of experience in the accounting and finance field, including six years as Controller of Centennial Ventures, a $1 billion venture capital firm located in Denver, Colorado. Ms. Cholez has been the principal financial officer of several portfolio companies and is a CPA.
